    This is a picture of my father Arthur Burgoyne Backus. His DOB is 3-27-01 so this picture is close to date.

    @sue hays Thanks for visiting my blog, Sue. Charlotte Eleanor (Backus) Todd (17 October 1906 – 11 April 1941) was a younger sister. Her husband was Eubron Henry Todd, so Todd was her married name.

    I thought that Arthur Burgoyne was born 3 March 1899? That is the date listed on his death record and military grave marker. Thanks again, Sue!

    I was born and raised in Leroy Minnesota. My Grandfather’s name was William Backus. He was married to Rose Backus ( I don’t know her maiden name). He also lived in Leroy Mn. My grandfather died somewhere between between after I left home and joined the Navy in 1958. Other than that I have no knowlege of my Grandfather or Grandmother Rose. I figure there must have some kind of a scandal because no one ever discussed them and they lived in the same small town. Does anyone out there have any info? E-mail MRB69@aol.com Thanks in advance!

    @Brian Davis
    My grandmother was Charlotte Eleanor Backus Todd, and my Mom was Dorothy May Todd Jankowiak (08/20/1925-10/22/1981). If anyone has any information about my grandmother, I would love to hear it. She died before I was born (08/11/1953). I have a picture of her when she was 16, and a picture of my Mom at about the same age. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi, Brian. I sent some emails to you with pictures attached of my grandmother, Charlotte, when she was 16, two more at an unknown age, Charlotte with her surviving children when they were small and a picture of her only daughter, my mom, Dorothy, when she was about 18. Do you have any history on my great grandmother, Henrietta, and her parents?

    I have pictures of my grandmother, Charlote Eleanor Backus Todd (a daughter born after the Backus Family Portrait was taken) and her children, but I am having problems posting the pictures to the blog. Can someone please help me with that? I can copy the pictures, but I cannot paste them.
