Roba Deweese’s obituary appeared in an unknown edition of The Mountaineer (Haywood County, NC):

Deweese, Roba 65, 39 Oakmont Dr., Canton died Sunday 05-08-1983 at his home following lung illness. Native Macon County and Haywood County resident most of his life and son of late John and Florence Roper Deweese. Navy Veteran World War II and retired from Champion Papers. Surviving: Wife: Juanita Scruggs Deweese; 2 daughters: Roba Dean Caldwell of Waynesville and Ann Moffitt of Canton; son, Pete Deweese of Canton; sister, Hallie Ervin of Mars Hill; 10 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. Services 11 a.m. Tuesday Wells Funeral Chapel. Rev. Neil Haynes officiated. Burial Plains United Methodist Church cemetery. Friends 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at funeral home. Memorials to Haywood Rescue Squad.
