William Polonoli’s obituary appeared in the March 18, 1985 edition of The Valley Independent (Monessen, PA):

William B. Polonoli of 201 Chess St., Monongahela, died suddenly at 5:15 am Sunday, March 17, 1985 in Mon Valley Hospital, Carrol Twp. He was 64.

Mr. Polonoli was born Feb. 17, 1921 in Black Diamond, Monongahela, a son of the late John and Catherine Frakise Polonoli.

He was a retired employee of the Allenport Plant of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corporation.

A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, Mr. Polonoli had been a resident of Monongahela for most of his life.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Monongahela.

Four brothers: Greeno, Nardo, Lou, and John Polonoli, and a sister, Francis Malena, are deceased.

Surviving are his wife, Thelma Polonoli, a daughter, Mrs. Alan (Donna) Park, of Monongahela, a son, William M. Hess, of Monongahela, five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and two sisters, Mary Togni and Anita Zonca, both of Monongahela.

Friends will be received at the L M Frye Funeral Home, Inc., 427 W Main St., Monongahela, Monday from 7 to 9 pm and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
