Spicer Jackson’s obituary appeared in the April 7, 1988 edition of the Jacksonville (NC) Daily News:

SPICER JACKSON

Spicer Cedric “Jack” Jackson, 70, of Jacksonville, died Wednesday at Onslow Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Jones Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kenneth Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Onslow Memorial Park.

Survivors include his wife, Mabel B. Jackson of Jacksonville; a son, Lawrence Alan Jackson of Cary; a daughter, Jennifer T. Kingston of Angler; and a brother, L.R. Jackson of Harrells.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.
